We are beyond thrilled to announce the winners, editors’ choice selections, and finalists of our inaugural Tiny Fork Chapbook Series Contest. These selections were chosen out of almost 200 submitted manuscripts, and rose to the top of a very strong batch of writing. All three selected manuscripts will be published in Spring 2021. Hypnic Jerk by Megan Freshley

Megan Freshley is a queer poet and musician from Cincinnati living in Portland, OR. She is a graduate of Antioch College, the Esalen Institute, and the MFA program at Portland State University. Her poems and essays have appeared in Portland Review, Stay Wild, Witch Craft Magazine, 1001, Old Pal, and others. She was a winner of the 2013 Academy of American Poets Prize and the 2014 Orlo Bear Deluxe Judge’s award from Oregon poet laureate Paulann Petersen. Hypnic Jerk is her first collection.

LeeAnn Olivier, M.F.A., teaches English and Humanities at a community college in Texas. Her poetry, short stories, and creative nonfiction have appeared in several journals, including most recently Infection House, Parhelion, and Driftwood Press, whose editors nominated her for a 2018 Pushcart Prize. Her first chapbook Spindle My Spindle, which features the voices of suppressed female characters from myth and fairy tale, was published by Hermeneutic Chaos Press in 2016. A survivor of domestic violence, Olivier now lives with her wonderful husband Nathan, his two teenagers, and a menagerie of rescued animals.
